Just last year, we were proud to introduce you to our 60” Deluxe Bench Seat. You spoke and we listened, delivering an all-new design especially for the street truck enthusiasts among us. We understood that offering the Deluxe Bench seat in a single size would mean that this bench seat wouldn’t work for every application, so over the past year, we’ve worked to remedy that issue. Now, we’re pleased to announce that we have added a 55” Deluxe Bench Seat to our list of offerings.

A Method to Our Madness

In the creation of our Deluxe Bench Seat, we’ve worked to combine the nostalgia associated with the old trucks we all know and love with the comforts and amenities that are expected in 2022. With a styling facelift and endless customization, we’ve also included a center console and storage area, making for the ultimate bench seat. In the center of the seat, we’ve incorporated an 18.5-inch-long by 11-inch-wide armrest, complete with two cup holders and integrated storage. When you need the third seat, simply flip the armrest up and out of the way.

At the heart of our 55” Deluxe Bench Seat is a strong all-metal 1” tubular frame with slider tracks (allowing for easy adjustment along the seat tracks) and reclining seatbacks. The frames are constructed in-house. This seat is a complete replacement, meaning no time and money spent tracking down a new frame or new foam to have reupholstered. All-new high-density molded foam resides in the seat bottom and backs, wrapped in covers that have been hand-sewn in-house. The frame is 26.5 inches high (with two additional inches added to height with the mounting tracks), 55 inches wide (measured from bolster to bolster), and the base is 22 inches long from the back of the seat to the front. The seat arrives fully assembled and ready for bolt-in installation. Mounting brackets are sold separately and are available to mount our 55” Deluxe Bench Seat in many popular vehicles.

In the Making

The production process of our Deluxe Bench Seats is one of the things we’re most proud of. In a nutshell, our process begins in our Frame Department. Two identical sets of round tubes are mandrel-bent into shape to form the outside edges and curves of the seat bottom structure. No-Sag springs are welded from side to side for a firm but comfortable foundation, before two thin limiting strips are attached to the springs to keep the springs in check. Then, two identical sets of steel tubes are vent to shapes, the sections are set into a guide with other bottom fame components, and more tubing is used to weld everything together and bridge the gaps. This forms the seat’s foundation, providing strength and rigidity to ensure a lifetime of comfort.

The seatback is then constructed in a very similar manner, with added bracing for extra support. A set of brackets is added to join the upper and bottom portions of the seat, before the seat moves on to be padded with foam. After that very intricate process, the seat makes its way to the Upholstery Installation Department where it meets its hand-sewn cover, made with the particular pattern, color, and stitching that you chose. But more on that later! Finally, the seat lands at our Pro-Series Department to have the cover installed and to be checked over for any imperfections before being boxed up and shipped your way.

The Fun Stuff

One of the most satisfying (and sometimes also the most difficult) parts of a build is choosing the colors and finishes on the interior and exterior alike. We’re not going to make that much easier for you, but it does pay to have creative freedom in making your ride your very own! Our 55” Deluxe Bench seat is available in NINE different patterns! From the more seamless and sleek patterns like our Sport or Sport-R to our more race-inspired feeling Sport-SS and Sport-R1000, you’ll have your work cut out for you. If you’re going for a more edgy look, consider our Sport-X or Sport-VXR, with three different grommet finishes. Once you’ve chosen a pattern, you’ll choose from a super wide variety of color options, before choosing from seven unique contrasting stitch color options. The possibilities are endless!
